Carole & Dan Loren had their first Operation Open Arms experience in July 2006. They are active contributors in the program.

In September 2006 they provided  a certificate to Daniel Snurkowski for a dinner at Carrabas in Cape Coral.

March 2007 - Another visiting soldier contacted Dan & Carole and sent a link to an interesting website about the soldier. If you would like to visit, the link is - www.fliptbit.com

In December 2006 the Loren's received this touching email from Morgan Wright, and they immediately arranged for a Carrabas gift certificate for the occasion:

Dan & Carol,

After viewing the Operation Open Arms web page, I am contacting you in regards to your generous offer of a gift certificate for either a meal or shopping. My name is Morgan Wright and I have just recently returned from a full tour deployment from Afghanistan. While I was deployed, my wife Lisa Wright not only raised our beautiful daughter Josalyn (Lisa was seven months pregnant when we were called to duty) but also chose to stay enrolled in college for the duration of my tour.

My wife graduates DEC 16th with her bachelor's degree in nursing. We are still celebrating our reuniting as a family, and I wish to do something special in appreciation which will also include a nice dinner at a local Carrabba's Italian Grill. Should the offer of a gift certificate be still available, I am interested in knowing how I might go about applying for this.

Kindly, Morgan Wright

Morgan provided 2 photos of himself while on deployment in Afghanistan - the photo on the left shows him during an observation patrol of an outlying village; the second of a classroom he had an opportunity to help rebuild.

We received this email and photo from Carole about their July visitor.

I met with Sgt Stephen Keane, his wife Carolyn and their son David, to give them a gift certificate to any local restaurant (they live in Ft. Myers, FL). They have two other sons who are in the military, by the way.

It was very touching meeting them, and I told him and his wife how much we appreciated his support proactively in Iraq, and indirectly with her supporting him back home. I saw the strain of worry on her face and knew there was nothing I could say to make her feel better about him going back there. He should be home for good sometime in October this year. He also told me that every Iraqi he speaks to over there, and there are many every day - all say THANK YOU to the American military for being there and helping them.

Don't you think the liberal media should air that type of information instead of showing only the negative sentiments which are apparently in the minority?

Operation Open Arms is a great concept - thank you. I think its good for our Vets to know that there are many people back home who support them in a tangible way. I hope word spreads and more people get involved.
